Cat

Cathy Cappel has been loving yoga for over 35 years! She credits her yoga experience for her continued flexibility, strength and vitality.   Adding stillness and silence in seated meditation/prayer to her practice has helped to calm, center, and focus her on becoming and being her Self.  Cat enjoys guiding and encouraging her yogis on the path to discovering their true nature, and realizing how truly loving, peaceful and wise they are.

Cat's style is a combination of traditional Hatha – a balance between action and stillness – and Kripalu – meditation-in-motion, flowing from pose-to-pose.  She is also experienced in facilitating a safe yet strengthening prenatal practice.  One of her favorite quotes is from Kripalu yogi Amrit Desai:  “I have not come to teach you, but to love you; love itself will teach you.”
Come and be loved!

Leah

Leah Naylor began practicing yoga as a child, with her mom, Cat, who was (and still is) a yoga instructor.  Her true asana practice began when she was in college and she continues to be an avid practitioner 11 years later.  She found "the calm within the storm" through her yoga practice and consistently turns to it to quiet her mind, listen to her heart, and flow with her breath.  Leah completed her 200 hour YTT with CorePowerYoga in 2008 in Colorado.  She is also prenatal certified (and is a strong supporter of maintaining an active yoga practice throughout pregnancy) and is Mommy-and-Me trained.

Leah's classes are guided in the style of vinyasa, flowing from pose to pose with your breath, and are focused around the needs (or wants) of her students.  She does enjoy a more physically challenging class than Cat does, so if there are no limitations that prevent her classmates from going to their edge, she'll often take them there (as well as herself).  She is also aware of being gentle with and listening to our bodies; therefore, meeting edges does NOT mean meeting injuries.

Beth

Beth Wernham’s journey in yoga began16 years ago when she discovered the practice as a way to manage the anxiety and stresses of life.  In her experiences of both gentle and Ashtanga styles of yoga, she found a wonderful blend between the two in her own practice and her teaching through a vinyasa flow style.   She received her 200-hour certification through Open Heart Yoga several years ago and was certified as a LifeForce Yoga Instructor Level 1 at Kripalu in the summer of 2009.

As a licensed clinical social worker, Beth has also developed an interest in understanding yoga as a transformational process, and in the past, has used yoga techniques in sessions with clients. She enjoys working with individual students, designing sessions to meet their needs.  Currently Beth is teaching vinyasa flow classes at The Fitness Plaza in Fogelsville, and a beginner’s class for a private residential community.  She has also taught yoga workshops and classes with teens.

Heather

Heather Walke was introduced to yoga through an Ashtanga workshop in 2005.  She looked at yoga as a way to balance her running with some "stretching".  To her surprise, and delight, yoga challenged her to reach new heights physically, mentally and spiritually.  She has found freedom in finding peace in even the most strenuous of poses and has learned to carry it over to other aspects of her daily life.

Heather has practiced Anusura and Ashtanga styles of yoga, but takes a more eclectic stance in her practice.  She became a 200-hr RYT through Lehigh Valley Yoga in
2009.  She continues to run and has recently picked up cycling and swimming.  Her desire is to share the mental, physical and spiritual challenge of yoga with others so that they might find a personal release in their life.

Lisa

Lisa Bryan is a 500-hour certified teacher in the Kripalu Yoga tradition.  She brings a passion for learning and holistic health into her classes and she loves to teach the breadth and depth of yoga practice with a sense of humor and nurturing.  Lisa has been offering wellness classes for over 16 years and teaching yoga since 2001.  Breathing techniques (pranayama) and guiding deep relaxation experiences in svasana posture are her specialties.  Lisa is also trained as a Reiki master and massage therapist, and is a student of Ayurveda and spiritual direction.  She also teaches at Open Heart Yoga, DeSales University, and local churches, and is available for individual sessions/private groups.  Her website is www.pranajoy.com.

Marilyn

Marilyn O’Preskoe started practicing yoga 25 years ago, wanting to find an exercise that balanced body, mind, and spirit, and that was also useful in Stress Management. After exploring several yoga traditions, she obtained her Kripalu certification, as well as Yoga Fit and AAAI Mat Pilates certifications.

She enjoys the wisdom of yoga in the way that it can be practiced for a lifetime, changing with individual growth and circumstances. She also appreciates the convenience of yoga. It can be done in a group or privately, requiring little equipment.  One becomes much more aware of the internal organs and alignment, and of the knowledge that the breath is the first line of defense against disease of all kinds. Yoga is a totally satisfying experience that demonstrates many health benefits.

Marilyn welcomes all levels of practice. She continues to expand her own practice with a variety of classes and workshops.

Natalie

Natalie Meck's love of yoga began in 2004, when she walked into a studio looking for a good workout and came away with inspiration to understand the ancient practice.  After years of dedicated practice, she completed the 200-hour teacher training program at the Yoga Loft of Bethlehem in 2009.  Today she teaches around the Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania).

Natalie teaches Vinyasa (flow) with clear body alignment.  As a self-described "eternal student", she vows to never stop learning about yoga, even as a teacher.  She believes the most important lessons people can learn from yoga are the ones they learn about themselves. "Yoga is a personal journey.  I teach in a relaxed environment, so my students can experiences the wonder of yoga in their own way." Natalie says.  "There are suggestions about body alignment and principles, but yoga doesn't have a rule book or regulations.  Yoga just is."

Kevin

Kevin Roth began practicing yoga in 2000 to balance, complement, and ground his varied athletic interests in weightlifting, running, snowboarding, and golf. Although initially unforeseen, he soon realized that yoga offered infinite opportunity via qualitative and quantitative union and enhancement of mind, body, and spirit throughout our impermanent lives.

In a natural progression of his awe-inspired yogic journey, Kevin completed his 200-hour yoga teacher training in April, 2011 at Shri Yoga and Wellness Center in Wyomissing, PA. With training and experience in Anusara, Ashtanga, and other expressions of yoga, Kevin's classes provide alignment, flow, and freedom for evolving yogis, one and all.

Teri

Teri Goszka began her professional career as a health educator and grant writer. After starting a family, she got certified to teach elementary school and worked with children in fifth, then first grade, for 16 years. Always interested in fitness and prevention, modeling good health was key in her life as a teacher. Hours at the gym, road cycling with her husband, and exercise with dvd's at home was her way to maintain good health......until she discovered yoga.

Inspired by excellent teachers in a studio setting, Teri stepped away from previous exercise habits and embraced a new kind of balance found only on the mat. She learned that yoga is not competitive, even with oneself. Regardless of our age or physical limitations, we can always improve our bodies.  After completing a ten-month certification, Teri began teaching Hatha Yoga at age 50. Though Teri has had health issues, as many do, she found herself healing readily, thanks in no small part to yoga. She learned that aspiring to live a life centered on the "eight limbs" described by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras has made all the difference. Teri resides with her family in Emmaus where she teaches small groups, cycles with her husband on local trails and walks daily.

The blending of body and spirit through a compassionate practice is the heart of yoga for Teri. Her classes blend breath, asana, and simple vinyasas to form a complete experience for the body. She invites you to "feel good" on the mat in a safe, nurturing environment at West End Yoga - where it is never too late to become a beginner or cultivate a beginner's mind.

Mandi

Mandi Boone was first introduced to yoga while living in Boulder Colorado in 2004. Her yoga practice started with some supplemental stretching for a body that had been strengthened more than stretched through years of involvement in various athletics. However, with a more regular practice and some wonderful teachers she has come to appreciate the connection of the body, breath and mind. All working in unison to strengthen yet relax. The concept of mindfulness in motion came later with her participation in a Mindfulness Training for the Health Care Professional. Concepts from this training have been incorporated into her practice and daily life.

Once established in her health care career as a Physician Assistant in Cardiology, she
turned her energy toward completing her teacher training course at Lehigh Valley Yoga
in Ashtanga. She learned about the history of yoga and the body alignment of each pose,
which further developed her interest in this ancient practice.

She has found her newest challenge to be the most enjoyable. That is mixing yoga
practice and philosophy into life as a new mother. Undoubtedly this is an endless and
ever rewarding journey.

Edit

Edit has been teaching yoga for 5 years. She first met yoga and her husband 8 years ago in a gym. She was immediately "hooked" (to both).  Edit has explored many types of yoga, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, and Hot Yoga before finding her ideal Vinyasa-flow fusion style that she most enjoys teaching and practicing. Her instruction combines the wisdom of correct alignment and the grace of a fluid practice with the challenge of vinyasas.  Edit teaches yoga to children at Seven Generations Charter School, as well as to adults in numerous studios and corporations in the Lehigh Valley. She's happy to join the WE family to share a playful yoga practice with the community.
