Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxing the body in restful, supported postures.  Rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal.  The more your body is supported in a posture the deeper the sense of relaxation. With props it is easier for the body to relax and to completely surrender to the pose.  Often, the instructor uses a more hands-on approach to assist in increasing the benefit from the practice. As always, breath awareness is encouraged in order to create balance and tranquility.
