Jamie Laputka, a West End Yoga-trained (200-hour) yoga instructor, found her love of yoga 12 years ago. She grows daily in her spiritual and physical yoga practice as a student and teacher. Jamie enjoys teaching yoga to children and believes that if we can share the tools of peace, mindfulness and love with children, our world will become a more compassionate place. She completed her Level 2 ChildLight Yoga certification in 2014.
Jamie’s passion is teaching prenatal/postnatal yoga. She believes that prenatal yoga is very important during pregnancy to strengthen the body, to practice breathing techniques to assist with labor and to connect with baby. Jamie connects prenatal yoga with her birth doula training to help prepare moms-to-be to have the birth they desire. Jamie completed her 85-hour yoga alliance prenatal/postnatal teacher training through Babymoon Prenatal Yoga in NYC to deepen her prenatal yoga practice to share with moms-to-be and to help prepare their minds and bodies for the birth of their baby. Through yoga and conscious birth movement, women prepare for active childbirth in which they are empowered and respected, are responsible for the choices they make about their birth, and develop increased self-esteem from the experience. Jamie is also a YCAT trained yoga therapist specializing in Yoga for Cancer and Chronic Illness. Through slow, gentle and conscious movement along with meditation and pranayama (breath work) she initiates healing mind, body and soul for her clients.
