Laura

AAA_2959Laura Danner was first introduced to yoga around 2005 by an instructional video with a friend.   Not only did yoga offer the strengthening of a friendship, but allowed the beginning of the ability to find moments of stress reduction and tranquility in an otherwise overworked, stressful life.  Laura couldn’t “find the time” over the next few years to find a steady practice but continued to feel a pull towards the benefits of practicing.

Laura has been a mental health counselor for the last 10 years, working with children, couples and families.  Laura has always been fascinated with the healing process and resolving internal conflicts.  She has observed clients struggling to resolve these conflicts through conventional talk therapy.  Laura began working with Experiential Therapy where clients “experience” situations that allow them to confront challenges in different ways, primarily through movement.  The transformation of clients has been profound.

Laura continued to feel a pull back towards practicing yoga herself to feel that same stress reduction.  She committed to making time for a steady practice and in spring of 2013, Laura embarked on a wonderful journey in pursing the Yoga Teacher Training at West End Yoga.  A steady yoga practice, as well as the teacher training, has been the most powerful experience in her life this far.

Laura continues to enjoy sharing her alternative ways to healing and helping practitioners focus on positive energy.  For some, changing that energy can be a struggle, but in the end is rewarding.  Reconnecting with our body and soul is sometimes easier to achieve by trying different ways of practicing (maybe that means by candlelight for you!).
