“Let the beauty that you love be what you do.” —Rumi

Deb began her yoga journey at a gym, about 2003, drawn to the practice for physical fitness and to help quiet her very busy mind. Her hectic job as an ICU nurse and loud noises of the gym had become mentally over-stimulating and she found that practicing Ashtanga Yoga was a perfect remedy. This meditation-in-motion helped her gain strength and flexibility in mind, body, and spirit. In 2009, her love of the practice and desire to share it with others spurred her to complete an Ashtanga 200 Hour Teacher training at Lehigh Valley Yoga.

In 2014, while recovering from shoulder surgery, Deb came across some Restorative Yoga videos on the Yoga International web site. With practice, it became apparent that this slow flow of deeply supported, very settling postures was healing to the body and promoted mental stillness and clarity. Being a lifetime learner, along with her belief that there is a genre of yoga for everyone, she completed a 30-hour Teacher Training in Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater in 2018. Since then, her classes have taken on a new form, fusing slow-flow asana with restorative components.

In 2019, she began teaching full Restorative Yoga Classes at West End Yoga.  She has also trained to teach Chair Yoga. She is currently working toward completing her 300/500 Hour Yoga Teaching Training at West End Yoga.  Deb is very grateful to have the opportunity to join the WE Yoga Community and to share her playful, inclusive yoga practices with our members.
