Rosalie

Rosalie Mattiola is an RYT 200 Yoga Teacher trained at the Lotus Pond in Tampa, FL with 18 years of experience practicing yoga, and 1 year teaching yoga. As a medical doctor-in-training, Rosalie combines Anatomy and Physiology-informed asana instruction with meditation and breath work in playfully powerful, vinyasa-style Hatha yoga classes.

As a teacher, Rosalie aims to enhance body awareness so she can serve as a guide in her students’ intuitive, organic self-practice. She does her best to balance alignment cuing with freedom of expression and trusts that your bodies know how to move. Novelty is her addiction so be prepared for your body to (safely) get into shapes it never has been before! Rosalie LOVES when her students verbalize new awareness of tension or sensitivity in their body, or when they share that they reached an unfamiliar level of relaxation and “really should do this more!”

With commitment to incorporating the 8 limbs of Ashtanga Yoga into her classes, you can expect lessons on non-harm, non-attachment, equanimity, moderation, impermanence, and union/communion sprinkled throughout asana practice. Although she will instruct prop use on an as-needed basis, you’ll notice Rosalie usually opts to practice without props because she wants yoga to be freely accessible to anyone, anywhere, anytime, requiring nothing except their body and their breath.

Rosalie has practiced with Karin Stephan, a student of BKS Iyengar and the master teacher at The Lotus Pond, as well as Larissa Hall-Carlson, former Dean of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda. Rosalie has specific certification in Yin yoga, Chakra yoga, and Introductory Ayurveda, and uses this ever-growing body of knowledge to inform her instruction.

In this busy modern life, we are all caretakers in some way, and deserve self-gratitude when we prioritize our own well-being. Together, we can practice stopping and slowing to make the going easier.
