Shana

Shana Baumgartner was first introduced to yoga in 1999 while living in California.  At the time, yoga was just another form of exercise.  Though she enjoyed it, life events led her away from her practice.  During a particularly difficult year in 2003, her doctor recommended yoga to ease her stress and find balance.  Beginning with a Power Yoga DVD and a steady home practice, she later branched out to explore different yoga styles and take different classes, eventually falling in love with the fluidity and synchronicity of movement and breath that characterizes the Vinyasa flow style.  For many years, Shana came to yoga as a way to counter stress.  Later, she realized that a regular yoga practice, among its many benefits, actually prevents stress and helps to maintain balance—with 2 children and 2 jobs, yoga became a life-line.  In 2012, she decided to commit more fully to yoga by completing a 200-hour teacher training at West End Yoga; a truly life-changing experience!  She continues to work on deepening her practice, guiding and learning from others on and off the mat, and maintaining her balance and calm.
